English: Fragment of an Anglo-Saxon copper alloy buckle plate, comprising the perforated circular terminal with a chamfered outer edge which is broken where it begins to turn outward at the junction with the missing body of the plate. The face of the terminal is decorated with an engraved ring around the perforation, within a concentric line of ten lunate stamps, with their points facing outward. Surviving length 14mm. Width 16mm. Thickness 2.5mm. Weighs 2.55g. Marzinzik 2003 Typegroup II.24. 6th - 7th century. |
