Early Medieval Buckle
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy buckle dating to the late Early Medieval period with close parallels that have been dated to the 9th-12th centuries. The buckle is D shaped in plan, with a thick curved section and a narrow offset bar. Either side of the bar are sub rectangular projections that have been worn down. The pin has been lost and is no longer present. The object is made of a copper alloy which is a mottled green/brown colour. It weighs 6.9g and measures 29.37mm in length and 21.76mm in width.
