Title |
Early Medieval Buckle |
||
Description |
English: Early Medieval cast copper alloy single loop buckle with an integrally cast sub-triangular plate. The loop is oval, with an oval cross-section. There is a small amount of iron corrosion on the plate from the missing pin. The plate has one rivet hole at its terminal end, and three integrally cast rectangular projections on the reverse. These projections would have been perforated to attach to a back plate. The buckle is 24.03mm long, 11.79mm wide and 3.25mm thick. It has a dull dark green patina and is worn. |
