Early Medieval Brooch
Description
English: Ansate brooch, bow and arms are formed of a strip, slightly splayed towards both ends. Traces of solder on reverse for missing separate catch-plate and pin lug. Decoration consists of tree transverse grooves on bow and five grooves at both ends. Thörle 2001 Gruppe XI C (Typ Donk und Variante). Length 47mm. Width 14mm. Thickness of strip 2mm. 8th-9th century.
