Description |
English: A fragment of a cast copper alloy Early Medieval Anglo Saxon square headed brooch. The fragment has a chip carved design with Style I ornament. The L-shpaed fragment has a zoomorphic animal design with an interlacing and disjointed body and two circular eyes. Between the eyes is a line of ring and dot, which can also been seen between some of the body parts. The front of the fragment has been gilded and the reverse is plain. The length is 27.6mm, the width is 26.2mm, the thickness is 2.8mm and the weight is 7.32g. |
