Title |
Early Medieval Anglo Saxon Tweezers |
||
Description |
English: An incomplete pair of Early Medieval Anglo Saxon tweezers. The copper alloy sheet tweezers are formed with a rounded loop at the top. Through the loop is a copper alloy wire oval ring with a slip knot and an external diameter of 18.3mm. The flaring arms curve inwards at the ends with a ninety degree angle. The arms are damaged and are now folded at a right angle in the middle and one of the arms is incomplete at the ends. Just underneath the loop, both arms are decorated with a moulded collar with a rectangular panel underneath with an incised saltaire cross. The surviving length is 41.3mm, the maximum width of the arm is 8.3mm and the weight is 5.64g. |
