Early Medieval (Saxon) Hooked Tag
Description
English: Copper alloy hooked tag with niello inlay decoration. Isosceles triangular tag with two attachment holes at the top. At the bottom (i.e. the apex of the triangle)is a thickened stub of a hook. The front of the hook is decorated with a curvilinear/foliate design in niello with a framing border of short lines. The back is flat and undecorated.
