Early Iron Age svratched ware vessel
Description
English: A rim sherd of a ceramic hand-made Early Iron Age Scratched Ware vessel, dating to the period c.600BC-c.300BC. The fabric is hard and coarse, with many large quarzite inclusions. The sherd is black, light grey and reddish-brown in colour with no distinct core. The upper face is decorated with a rough incised linear cross-hatched pattern. Overall the object measures 54.4mm long, 41.9mm wide and 10.8mm thick. It weighs 23.33g.
