Title |
Early-medieval single-looped buckle |
||
Description |
English: A complete single-looped cast copper-alloy buckle of early-medieval date. The buckle is D-shaped, with a narrowed pin bar and a plano-convex cross-section. The thick wire pin survives in situ with the tip bent to one side. The artefact is seemingly plain but is quite corroded. It now has a variable light-green colour. The buckle can be compared with some illustrated in West (1998, 136; fig. 20). |
