Title |
Early-medieval finger-ring (probably) |
||
Description |
English: A twisted gilded copper-alloy artefact: probably a finger-ring of early-medieval date. The object is now sub-oval in plan. It is formed of ?three wires twisted together. It has corroded to a red-brown colour with traces of overlying gilding. The date is suggested by objects found in the vicinity. Further, a finger-ring can be found illustrated in Evison (1988, 101; ref. 41.3); this find may be directly related. |
