Title
Early-medieval buckle frame
Description
English: Copper alloy D-shaped buckle loop; loop of circular section, thickens towards outer edge, no surface treatment.

These small buckles are occasionally found in fifth- or sixth-century graves, but are very much more common in seventh- or early eighth-century graves. The style then appears to go out of use, although this may be due more to the fact that buckles were no longer being deposited in furnished graves than to them no longer being used.
