Title
Early-medieval brooch: Great Square headed brooch fragment
Description
English:

A fragment of an early medieval copper alloy brooch, probably part of a great square headed brooch, dating from the early 6th century AD. The fragment is an irregular triangular shape, with old breaks on all edges. The decoration consists of devolved elements now hard to discern due to wear. There is traces of gilding remaining and an iron stain on one top corner of the fragment. The reverse retains only a trace of the large catchplate.
