Title
Early-Medieval tweezers (incomplete)
Description
English: A copper-alloy arm from a set of tweezers. The style and decoration suggest an early to middle Anglo-Saxon date. The narrowest part of the artefact is at the broken loop. From here the width increases very gradually for two thirds of the length, before flaring out in the lower third of the arm. The surface of this lower portion is decorated with three vertical lines of punched dots. The bottom side has been bent inwards at approximately 45 degrees. The artefact is bent and corroded. It measures 56.7mm long, 11.4mm wide and 0.8mm thick. The weight is 1.92g.
