Title |
ESS-EE3335 Medieval buckle |
||
Description |
English: Medieval cast copper alloy damaged and incomplete buckle with integrally cast box chape. The chape is rectangular with an open slot at the attachment end and two copper alloy rivets that would have attached a leather strap. The upper surface of the chape has a cast design of the letter 'W'. The buckle frame is almost completely missing, but would probably have been lyre shaped. It is 35.05mm long, 20.40mm wide, 5.90mm thick and weighs 13.15 grams. |
