Description |
English: Fragment of wheel thrown slightly sandy shelly ware dating from late Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) to early Medieval, circa 850 to 1200AD. The fabric is tempered with shell and small dispursed flint inclusions. The core is grey, and the external surfaces are reddish-brown. It it part of the shoulder of a vessel, with part of the wall being straight, before expanding outwards giving the sherd a convex profile. The fragment measures 62.08mm by 39.46mm, is 5.90mm thick and weighs 21.13 grams. |
