Title |
ESS-61F8D2 Roman cosmetic spoon or ear scoop |
||
Description |
English: Roman (40-300AD) cast copper alloy cosmetic implement. The main body is circular, with two opposing triangular projections. One projection has a damaged, incomplete end, while the other has a domed circular terminal forming a scoop. The overall shape of this artefact is in the form of a nail cleaner, however the surviving terminal suggests it was used as an ear or cosmetic scoop. The implement is curved in profile. It has a mid-green patina. It is 32.31mm long, 12.31mm wide, 1.29mm thick, and the scooped end is 5.07mm in diameter and 1.98mm deep. It weighs 2.53 grams. |
