ESS-208A05 Roman samian ware vessel sherd
Description
English: Roman samian ware vessel sherd; there are worn breaks on all sides. The outer surface has moulded decoration in the form of a beaded line with a possible bird below. The orange-red slip is missing from most of the raised decoration. The sherd is 29.70mm long, 22.84mm wide, 4.48mm thick and weighs 3.6 grams. The sherd curves slightly in profile. not enough of the vessel survives to determin a type.
