Description
Deutsch: Blick zum westlichen Rand des Parkplatzareals am heutigen "Tor zur Stadt" und die Häuser der oberen Sandgasse (im Hintergrund). Im Mittelhang erkennt man zwei langgestreckte Gebäude - sie wurden ebenfalls bei der Stadtsanierung abgerissen - an dieser Stelle befand sich bis um 1850 einer der drei mittelalterlichen Schafhöfe der Wartburgstadt. Mit Beginn der Hotel- und der Villenbebauung am Pflugensberg und am Nikolaitor (etwa 1860) war die Schäferei abgefunden und eingestellt worden. Der am Hangfuß verlaufende Straßenzug der Waldhausstraße endete gegenüber dem Hotel Kaiserhof und Einmündung Sandgasse.
