Der Anfang der 1990er Jahre von der Eisenacher ABS Gmbh (ABM-Trägerbetrieb) ausgestaltete Wanderweg über den Petersberg lockte in den Anfangsjahren viele Wanderer und Spaziergänger auf den Petersberg. Ein Naturlehrpfad führte dann durch die Streuobstwiesen zum Stadtteil Hofferbertaue. Nach dem die Pflegemaßnahmen eingestellt wurden, war auch das Schicksal dieses Schildes besiegelt. Die Malittenburg existiert jedoch als Bodendenkmal und kann besichtigt werden.
