Deutsch: Von verschiedenen Punkten der Eisenacher Südstadt und der Wartburg erkennt man im mittleren Mariental unweit der Milchkammer in Mittelhanglage ein monumentales vergoldetes M. Der Buchstabe steht für Maria - Vorname der sachsen-weimarischen Herzogin Maria Pawlowna. Im Jahre 1805 wurde ein 6,50 Meter hohes «M» in den Fels eingehauen und anlässlich des Antrittsbesuch mit Huldigungsfeier enthüllt. Es war noch bis in die 1940er Jahr gut zu sehen, bis es von Bäumen zugewachsen war. |

Im Pawlowna Jahr 2004 wurde es vom Forst wieder frei geschlagen und kann von der Wartburg aus wieder gesehen werden. Steinmetze aus Eisenach (S2) und Mitarbeiter von «Dach-Alpin» besserten das «M» aus und belegten es mit goldener Farbe. (Pressemitteilung der Stadtverwaltung vom 24. Juni 2004)
