Description
Deutsch: Erläuterungstafel zur Symbolik der Sommergewinnsfiguren.

Das Sommergewinnsdenkmal

geschaffen vom Kunstschmied Prof. Günther Laufer,
eingeweiht am 23. März 1985. Es erinnert an das Brauchtum des
Sommergewinnens, welches jedes Jahr drei Wochen vor Ostern
begangen wird. Sinn ist die Vertreibung des Winters und das
Einholen des Sommers.
Das Denkmal zeigt die drei Symbole des Festes

den Hahn als Verkünder des Lichtes,
die Brezel als Symbol für das Unendliche und
das Ei als Zeichen der Fruchtbarkeit.

An der Spitze des Denkmals die Sonne, welche über den Winter
siegt, wie es der Brauch des Sommergewinns ist.
Der Eisenacher Sommergewinn zählt heute zu den größten
Frühlingsfesten in Deutschland.
