Die Historische BMW-Siedlung Eisenach

Das Denkmalschutzemsemble wurde von Dipl.-Ing. Nebe
im Jahr 1934/35 im Auftrag von BMW für die Beschäftigten
des Eisenacher Werkes entworfen. Die Wohnanlage besteht
aus 52 Mehrfamilienhäusern. Sie ist ein Beleg für den sozialen
Wohnungsbau im frühen 20. Jahrhundert. 1995 erhielt die
gesamte Siedlung den Status eines Kulturdenkmals und wurde
unter Schutz gestellt.

Das Wandbild führte der Münchner Künstler H. Goebel
1935 als Sgraffito aus. Nach 1950 entfernte man Teile des
Bildes. Sie ließen sieh nicht in das ideologische Weltbild
der DDR integrieren.

2000/2001 Revitalisierung der Siedlung durch:
