This version features the new LED lightbars coming into service. Its advantages are: lower profile, giving less drag thus being more fuel efficient, and reduced enegery usage; LED lights only draw 5 percent of the power the older rotating unit. Also the livery has changed with the bottom section on the side removed. This will make the cost of producing theses cars significantly cheaper, however tests show that the cars are no harder to see in busy suburban streets with the reduced livery. The saving the Nez Zealand Police will make on these newer, efficaint patrol cars is estimated to be NZ$800,000 which will be put back into front line policing. Source: [1] |
