English: Photo of Berliner Kunsthalle at Königsplatz 4 (Platz der Republik), the exhibition hall in Berlin for the infamous "Degenerate Art Exhibition" (Entartete Kunst), a propaganda exhibition displaying and mocking "un-German and unhealthy" art by Jewish and modern painters & sculptors. The exhibition was organized by the Nazi Party (NSDAP) and originally shown in Munich, Germany from 19 July to 30 November 1937. Four months later, in 1938, it went on to Berlin where it was on display from 26 February to 8 May. The exhibition continued touring other cities until 1941. The text on the banner sign on the wall reads: Ausstellung der NSDAP Gau Berlin ENTARTETE KUNST ("Exhibition of the Nazi Party in Berlin district: Degenerate Art"). No known copyright restrictions. |
