Summary
[edit]DescriptionEJBW 001.png |
English: In 1996, the Free State of Thuringia and the city of Weimar established the Foundation European Youth Education and Youth Meeting Center Weimar (EJBW). It was finally decided to locate it centrally in Weimar's city center - a conceptual decision for the spatial proximity to the tradition and history of the city of Weimar and thus for really using the city as a "place of learning".
The meeting place was built and renovated primarily with funds from the Free State of Thuringia and the federal government. Until its completion, the EJBW moved into two rooms on Buttelstedter Straße. The official opening took place on September 3, 1999, as part of Weimar's European Year of Culture. Today, the facility has excellent seminar and conference facilities: A central main building, five garden houses, the historic Reithaus and two old city villas invite you to educational events and conferences. Today, the EJBW is a nationally and internationally networked youth education center and, in addition, an attractive conference and accommodation venue in Weimar.
