Summary
[edit]DescriptionDwyryd estuary - geograph.org.uk - 1432385.jpg |
English: Dwyryd estuary. Saltmarsh (morfa) in the Dwyryd estuary, as seen from the Cambrian Coast Line just east (south) of Penrhyndeudraeth station. The power lines come from the disused nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd 341889 but are still used as part of the National Grid. They disappear underground 525085 just on the other side of Penrhyndeudraeth. The lump just to the right of the pylon in Ynys Gifftan, a tidal island in the estuary. The land to the left of the pylon is Ynys Llanfihangel-y-Traethau, a former island as the name suggests, which is now attached to the mainland due to land reclamation measures after 1798 http://www.heneb.co.uk/ardudwycharacter/ardudwy/ardudwy19.html north of Harlech. Portmeirion 161963 is at the tip of the headland on the right. |
