| Description |
Duxford airfield, 1987. An earlier view of Duxford's control tower, pictured in September 1987 while it was still painted white. The aircraft is a former CAA Flying Unit De Havilland Dove, originally used for calibration of navigational and landing aids. This picture is roughly on the site of Duxford's fourth hangar, spectacularly blown to pieces for the making of 'The Battle of Britain' film in the 60s. The remaining hangars are now all listed buildings!. |
