| Description |
English: View from a pedestrian bridge on the Green River Trail, Tukwila, Washington. At left, the shore of Cecil Moses Memorial Park on the left bank of the upper Duwamish River is held in place by a bulwark of old tires. At center, North Wind's Weir, a rock ledge visible (as here) at tides of +1 or less. According to local native (Salish) tradition, this is the remnant of an ice weir the North Wind used to dam the river in a war with the Chinook Wind. See Cathy McDonald, Cecil Moses Memorial Park, Seattle Times, 2005-11-03 for a bit more detail. |
