Summary
[edit]DescriptionDutch Police Officer.jpg |
Each year on Prinsjesdag (day of the 'Princelings') the Dutch queen addresses a joint session of the Houses of Parliament in the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights) in The Hague. The queen leaves the palace in the Golden Carriage at 13.00 hrs but from 09.00 hrs a vast crowd is building up along the route. Orange (the surname of the Royal Family is 'Orange'), predominates the streets (as by games of the Dutch national soccer team). There is a lot of military and police on the streets, but the atmosphere is very very friendly. |
