Description
English: Leaflet produced by the Hungarian Red Army during the Hungarian–Romanian War, aiming to convince Romanian soldiers about the benefits of communism. The legends, in approximate Romanian influenced by Hungarian orthography and grammar, with some words particular to the westernmost varieties of Romanian. On the left: Dusmani mințăsc caci asa e, Communismul (standard Romanian: Dușmanii mint cum că așa ar fi comunismul; "Adversaries will lie [to you] that this is what Communism is like"); on the right: In realitate acesta e Communismu (standard: În realitate, acesta e comunismul; "In reality, this is what Communism is like").

This work was first published in Hungary in 1943 or before, and the identity of the author cannot be determined. According to the Hungarian copyright act of 1999 31. § (3): In the event the person of the author is unknown, the term of protection shall be seventy years and shall be counted from the first day of the year following the first disclosure of the work. Important: "the author is unknown" is NOT the same as "I don't know who the author is". You have to provide a reason why you think no one else can know it; otherwise the image shall be deleted.


The official position taken by the Wikimedia Foundation is that "faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public domain works of art are public domain".
