English: Durham Castle overlooking Framwellgate Bridge Durham Castle a Grade 1 listed building, originally built by The Normans in the 11th.C, has been rebuilt and extended many times. It served as a Palace for the Bishops of Durham until it was donated to the University Of Durham in 1837. Framwellgate Bridge, also a Grade 1 listed building, was originally built about 1120 but has undergone extensive repairs and alterations since. It was widened in the 19th.C |
