Description |
League Park was built by Frank Dehaas Robinson, owner of the Cleveland Spiders, at East 66th Street and Lexington Avenue. The first game was played there on May 1, 1891. Between 1916 and 1927 the park was called Dunn Field after then owner James Christopher "Sunny Jim" Dunn. The name of the park reverted to League Park after ownership changed hands. The park was the scene of the first unassisted triple play in a World Series game and the first World Series grand slam, both of which occurred during the 1920 series. |
