This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Restored version of original negative scan as follows:- (i) Colour corrected (via overlay from scan of *print* of the same image), (ii) dust and scratches removed *only* where clear they're not part of the photo itself, (iii) slight dodging at far left to compensate for shutter darkening.
The original scan was from the negative, but had colour problems due to scanning issues. A scan of the print had better colour (albeit with slighly less sharpness), so overlaying the colour from that onto the detail from the negative gave the best of both worlds. Only problem was that- since the print was slightly cropped relative to the negative- the colour had to be stretched at the *very* edges, leading to streaking if you look closely. Everything else should be accurate!).. |
