Summary
[edit]DescriptionDundalk Historical Marker 2012.jpg |
English: Historical marker for Dundalk, Maryland, erected on Dundalk Avenue near the American Legion building by the Patapsco Neck Historical Society. The marker states: Dundalk, Maryland - founded 1894 - Approximately 200 yards from this spot an iron foundary, owned by William McShane, was built in 1894. When asked to give a name to the railroad station serving his new foundary, he chose "Dundalk" in honor of the birthplace of his father, Henry McShane, born in Dundalk, Ireland. The two seaport communities of Dundalk, one in Ireland and one in Maryland, have many other simularities. |
