Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Dundale Griff In this part of the North York Moors there are several narrow, steep sided little valleys known as 'griffs'. The name doesn't seem to appear anywhere else. This photo was taken close to the junctions of Dundale Griff, Water Griff and the splendidly names Pigtrough Griff, all of which are extremely narrow and have rocky sides. One would guess that they are a product of rapid erosion caused by snow and ice melt some 15000 years ago when there were tundra like conditions on the moortops.
