Summary
[edit]DescriptionDunalastair Intake Dam - geograph.org.uk - 279838.jpg |
English: Dunalastair Intake Dam Built by the Grampian Electric Supply Company and adopted as part of NoSHEB's Tummel-Garry Hydroelectric Scheme, the dam serves as a very large intake weir. Water is conducted along an open aqueduct to a headpond 2 miles away above Tummel Power Station. The dam has two floodgates and four syphon spillways as well as an over-crest spillway, due to the volume of water which sometimes needs to be discharged. |
