Summary
[edit]DescriptionDuluth - South Pier Breakwater Light (7554090632).jpg |
The South Pier Breakwater Light is located at the end of the South Pier at the Duluth Canal. The structure is made of brick. The building was designed to hold a fog signal and the lighthouse itself. The original fog signal has been removed and was replaced with an electric horn. The lantern displays a fixed green light. The lens itself is 4th order fresnel lens -- the original. The green color is created by green panels that surround the lens. The lantern itself has helical bars rather than the usual rectangular windows. |
