Nederlands: De helm is uit leder, behalve de metalen 'sierstukken' zoals de punt en het embleem (oog van God, handdruk, vlam) en het uiterlijke van de kin-riem.
Het betreft een Duitse officierenhelm, waarschijnlijk uit de periode van WOI (en waarschijnlijk reeds voordien in gebruik genomen); zulke helmen werden in de tweede helft van de 19de en het begin van de 20ste eeuw vooral als attributen door de Duitse officieren van het Keizerrijk gedragen naar aanleiding van feestelijkheden of plechtstatig optreden. Er bestaan talrijke foto's van (zie namelijk "Der Spiegel, Geschichte." nr.3 /2013: 'Das Deutsche Kaiserreich, 1871 bis 1914; Der Weg in die Moderne.'). Op deze staat de volgende inscriptie : "Gott zur Ehr, dem Nächsten zur Wehr". |
