English: König's Oak, a sessile oak (Quercus petraea) within the Dubrow, a large forest area near Gräbendorf, district of Heidesee, Landkreis Dahme-Spreewald, Brandenburg, Germany. This listed natural monument is named after the local König family.
Deutsch: Die Königseiche, auch Königs-Eiche oder Königs Eiche genannt, in der Dubrow, einem rund 1300 Hektar großen Waldgebiet in der Gemarkung von Gräbendorf, einem Ortsteil der Gemeinde Heidesee, Landkreis Dahme-Spreewald, Brandenburg, Deutschland. Die auf ein Alter von rund 600 Jahren geschätzte Traubeneiche (Quercus petraea) ist als Naturdenkmal ausgewiesen. Nur rund zwei Monate nach dieser Aufnahme brach auch der letzte noch lebende Stammteil ab, sodass der Baum nun endgültig am Ende seines Lebenszyklus angelangt sein dürfte. Benannt ist der Baum übrigens nicht nach einem Herrscher, sondern nach der alteingesessenen Gräbendorfer Familie König, die auf dem benachbarten Dubrow-Berg früher eine Gaststätte betrieben hat. Das Foto zeigt sehr gut, wie stark der alte Baum ringsum von Waldkiefern bedrängt wird.
