Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Dubrach -"I'm your auldest enemy" Dubrach, a ruined township beside the Dee was home to Peter Grant, the last surviving Jacobite soldier. He was presented to George IV on his visit to Scotland - when told by the King that he was his oldest friend, Grant replied - I'm your auldest enemy. It is also the site of an infamous murder, that of a soldier, Sergeant Davis who manned the post '45 picket here. The case relied on the testimony of the victim, and collapsed when a witness claimed that the ghost spoke as good Gaelic as himself.
