English: Duan Ji (斷機), depicted the scene that Mencius' Mother (left) broke up the weaving machine to teach the child Mencius (right) to study hard. The illustration was a rubbing of a stone stele called Heritage Illustrations for Descent of Mencius (孟氏宗傳祖圖), which records the life of Mencius. The original stone stele is located at the Temple of Mencius, Shandong, China.
