Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Dry-stone wall near Boglairoch The forested area to the west (the left) of the dry-stone wall is Craigarestie (at least, on the 1:25000 map; for some reason, the 1:50000 map has "Creigarestie").

The line of the wall heads northwards towards the southern shore of Loch Humphrey; a stile is located at the point where the wall meets the shore: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1335294

At various points along the wall, on its near side, low heaps of small stones were visible; these heaps, apparently associated with the construction of the wall, had largely become covered over with grass.

[A report from 1971 mentions some cup-marked stones in this area, although subsequent efforts to locate the stones were unsuccessful ( http://www.wosas.net/wosas_site.php?id=7793 ); the large rock that is visible near the lower left corner of this image (situated at about NS 45728 75347) has a couple of small depressions near the centre of its flat upper surface, but, to me, these marks look very recent. These are highly unlikely to be the marks referred to in the report.]
