Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Drummond Hill. The ridgeline of Drummond Hill is a fine open Scots Pine forest, very typical of a lot of Sweden. As you might expect, such terrain attracts orienteers, and the photo was taken while dismantling the start for a race. Orienteering access is restricted to the winter months as this forest is a stronghold of Capercaillie. They were reintroduced to these woods in the 18th century from Sweden, although many like to hope that they never did completely die out in Scotland. They are now in serious decline.
