Drumm Seed and Floral Co. 23 A WORD ABOUT OUR ROSES. THE ROSES WE GROW are all on their own root, and will produce i he same beautiful roses as long as the plant lives. OUR ROSES ARE NOT FORCED. All plains are true to name and the varieties are choice, being the cream of the rose family. OUR COLLECTION OF 24 ROSES FOR 81. This collection often contains many of the high-priced varieties not listed in the cheaper grades. Send us your order and help to build up a business at your home, Texas. SPECIAL OFFER. - The 6 La France Roses sent for 75c. CLIMBING LA FRANCE. Climbing La France towers so far above all climbing roses for the open ground that comparison is out of the question. Hitherto the hardy climbing roses have been almost u tally devoid of perfume, and none of them have that form and substance deemed requisite in a high class rose. With the advent of the Climbing La France these objec- tions vanish, for it excels even its parent (La France) in size and qual- ity of flower, it retains the charming peach-pink color and the exquisite fragrance which have made La France the fa- vorite it is. The Climb- ing La France is equally as hardy as its parent: we feel a pardonable pride in being able to offer an American rose which is worthy of a place in every garden. This is a true, ever-blooming, har- dy, climbing rose which will make it valuable for the South. Be sure to try it. Price. 20c each. PINK LA FRANCE. We have always given this the first place, the queen of all the roses. Acccounts come to us from all quarters every year describing the great profusion of its bloom from early spring until frost, and extolling its fragrance and immense size. It is of superb form, double as a rose can be. surpass it in delicate coloring, silvery-rose shade, with pink. It has a satin sheen over all its petals. It is universally regarded as the most useful of roses, for it is hardy beyond question. It blooms continuously. Arose of which one can never have too manv. Price, 15c each: large two-year-old plants. 40c each. STRIPED LA FRANCE. < Madame Angelique Veysset.) Everybody knows this beautiful La France—a rose that has always had such a ready sale that the demand has neverbeen fully met. Striped La France combines all the good qualities of La France in growth, fragrance, shape of bud and flower: in fact differs from it except in two points. First, it is freer in bloom than the parent; second, it is nicely striped, the marking being plain and distinct, the variegation a beautiful bright rose on a satin-pink ground. Many of our friends who have seen it prefer it to La France, as being a more pleasing shade, if that were possible. This rose has received several gold medals and special certificates of merit, as shown before the rose societies of this country as well as Europe. In ordering this vou are not only getting a novelty in the way of a striped rose, but a rose that is sterling in every good quality. The fact of the florists buying more of it for their own use than any of the new roses offered should convince every one that it is bound to become popular. Perfectly hardy. Price, 15c each: large two-year-old plants, 40c. WHITE LA FRANCE. (Augustine (iuinnoiseau.) Here we have a beauty indeed: one we can recommend to all. whether for outdoor culture or for pots in the house in winter. If vou were to ask us to select six of the very finest roses for you, we should be sure to include it in the six. Do you know'La France* If so, you know this elegant new rose. It is identical with La France except in color. It is pearly white, sometimes rinted with fawn. Persons who have Pink La France. Crimson La France. White La France. Climbing La France. CLIMBING LA FRANCE. visited our grounds this summer have been startled with the beauty of this rose, one and all exclaiming: " What beautiful rose is this?" We predict for it far more popularity than La France ever attained. Don't fail to get this new rose. Price, 15c each: large two-vear-old plants. 40c each. CRIMSON LA FRANCE. (La France de '89.) Pro- nounced by all the noted French rosarians as the most re- markable Hybrid Tea of late years. One notable peculiarity of this variety is its long, elegant buds, which are often two to three inches long, while the expanded flowers are of im- mense size. Another strong point is its bright color, which is very nearly scarlet, sometimes lined and bordered with pure white, The very brightest and most brilliant rose we know. Still another point in its favor is the sweet fragrance —a pre- cious trait in the rose. Undoubtedly a rose of enchanting beautv. It will please you. Price, 15c each. RED LA FRANCE. (Duchess of Albany.) We wish to impress the fact that as a rose for all purposes it has no peer. It is identical with La France excepting in three points. These are: a more vigorous growth, a larger and more ex- panded flower, and a deep, even pink in color, not shaded, but what is termed a solid color. Ladies prefer it on account of its beautiful color to any other rose for personal adorn- ment, as it shows up well against either light or dark dress goods to charming advantage. The growth of the plant Is ex- ceedingly vigorous, and the flowers, which are thrown up well above the foliage, are produced in extraordinary profusion, the plant being covered with handsome flowers. You would make no mistake to plant one hundred or more of this one variety. Price. 15c each: large two-year-old plants, 40c each.
