Summary

[edit]
Description I once lived in paradise: Druid Heights was my home for two years, circa 1977. Our small bohemian community was hidden away in the middle of Muir Woods. For generations, Alan Watts and other creative folks lived there and hosted many memorable gatherings, from poetry readings to rock concerts. After 40 years, I went back to see what was left of my home at the edge of time. Sadly, many of the houses were gone (they were demolished after their leases ran out) -- or they are in ruins. But a few of these beautifully-crafted homes still remain, thanks to lifetime leases, and still carry on the spirit of these wild and crazy years. I hope to return soon to that special spot.
