Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Drosera rotundifolia on Yew Tree Heath, New Forest. This is a close-up of a common sundew (also called round-leaved sundew) - a common carnivorous plant often found in bogs. Here it is found on the marshy lower slopes of Yew Tree Heath. Insects are attracted to the sugary mucilage on its leaves, and the plant digests the insects to gain nitrates.
