Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Svenskerne belejrer København og bygger løbegrave stadig nærmere byen. En nat gør Ib Abelsøn så udfald sammen med en flok gønger og nederlandske matroser for at forstyre arbejdet. Da de kommer tilbage næste morgen bliver de mødt af en stor mængde tilskuere. Ib Abelsøn lægger en erobret svensk fane for fødderne af dronning Sophie Amalie, der har givet ham lov til at kalde sig Dronningens Vagtmester. Dronning Sophie Amalie (1628-1685) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The Swedes besieges Copenhagen and builds trenches still closer to the city. One night Ib Abelsøn together with a group of gønger and Dutch sailors then has to make a sortie to disturb them. When they returns the next morning they are meet by a large number of spectators. Ib Abelsøn lays a captured Swedish flag for the feets of queen Sophie Amalie who has allowed him to call himself for the Queens Officer. Queen Sophie Amalie (1628-1685) was a real person but the story is fiction.
