Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og hans gønger er på vej fra Gjorslev Slot til Isefjord med herskabet. På vejen fortæller Svend Poulsen Karen Kaas, at adelsfolkene nok roser ham nu, men at de vil glemme ham efter krigen. Derefter fortæller han Karen Kaas, at han elsker hende, og hun giver ham hånden. Men Karen Kaas' mor Elsebeth Buchwald og hendes fætter Holger Rud bag dem har også snakket om noget. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and his gønger are on their way from the Gjorslev Castle to Isefjord with the noble people. While riding Svend Poulsen tells that Karen Kaas that the noble people may praises him now but that they will forget him after the war. Then he tells Karen Kass that he loves her and she give him her hand. But the mother of Karen Kaas Elsebeth Buchwald and her cousin Holger Rud behind them has also been talking about something. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him.
