Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og hans gønger har været på Gjorslev Slot for at befri Ib Abelsøn. De tager væk sammen med herskabet, som længe har villet flygte. Mens de rider gennem skoven om natten, møder de flere andre gønger, som slutter sig til dem. Da de kommer ud på en hede om morgenen, bemærker adelskvinden Elsebeth Buchwald, at de førhen ni gønger nu er blevet til omkring tredive. Svend Poulsen fortæller at de vil møde flere undervejs.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and his gønger has been at the Gjorslev Castle to free Ib Abelsøn. They leaves together with the noble people who has wanted to flee for a long time. As they rides through the forest during the night they meets several other gønger who joins them. When they comes to a moor in the morning the noble woman Elsebeth Buchwald notices that the once gønger now are around thirty. Svend Poulsen tells her that they will meet more along the way. |
