Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og hans gønger, der er forklædt som svenske soldater, er kommet til Gjorslev Slot for at befri Ib Abelsøn. Der bryder en kamp ud mellem gøngerne og de rigtige soldater, men hønsedrengen Palle har skruet flintestenene af soldaternes karabiner, så de ikke kan skyde. Soldaterne overgiver sig og bliver spærret inde. Bagefter får Ib Abelsøn gøngerne til at hædre Palle ved at give ham hånden, mens han præsenterer dem. Imens ser Svend Poulsen og herskabet, der venter på at flygte, til i baggrunden. Mellem ligger de syv soldater og fire gønger, der døde under kampen.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and his gønger who are disguised as Swedish soldier has come to the Gjorslev Castle to free Ib Abelsøn. A fight between the gønger and the real soldiers breaks ou but the chicken boy Palle has been screwing the flint stones of the soldier's carbines so that they can't shoot. The soldiers surrenders and gets jailed. Afterwards Ib Abelsøn gets the gønger to honor Palle by shaking his hand while he presents them. Meanwhile Svend Poulsen and the noble people waiting to flee looks at them in the background. Between them lays the bodies of the seven soldiers and four gønger who died during the fight.
